The global pandemic offered to the Albanian capital the peace it had lacked for many years. Acoustic pollution measurements at the noisiest crossroads in Tirana marked a decrease of 10 dB, compared to a year ago.

"During the day the allowed level of noise pollution is 55 dB. The average at the main crossroads of the city ranges from 55 to 60 dB. During the night we continue to be within the allowed range below 40dB or below 35db "

The annual report of Co-PLAN, the Institute for Habitat Development in Albania, on air pollution, noise, and other parameters in Albania has shown that our country is not in the best days in terms of these components.

The Green Lilies for Our Cities project is developing and piloting an alternative platform for monitoring and protecting the impact of air quality policies, noise pollution and urban greenery at the local level. The newly published report on air, noise, and greenery provides specific information about Tirana, Durres, Shkodra and Elbasan during 2019 and pandemics.
