Gjoka: Karantina reduced pollution only for 2 months! Tirana is not an advisable city to live in

Rodjon Gjoka, the director of the Environment Unit at the Co-plan Institute, stated on the morning show ABC that quarantine had a positive effect on reducing environmental pollution in urban centers. However, he stressed that with the reopening, we are returning to where we were. Gjoka said that despite the economic opportunities that Tirana offers in relation to other cities, it is not advisable to live. 'Globally, the land seems to have taken a two-month break to clean up the accumulated pollution. In Tirana, we did our experiment to see which measure affects pollution. We have carried out monitoring in four points of Tirana that due to traffic have had high pollution. In the first week of April, the pollution dropped. Annual reports of air pollution do not allow us to see what factors are influencing. Yesterday morning we had a good situation while today it is another painting because nitrogen dioxide has exceeded the standard for a period of 24 hours. For all cities, there are over 2600 stations where we have received data. The situation today is not good. Quarantine gave a natural effect. But now we are back to where we were. Tirana may be an economically promising city, but in terms of health, cities are moving in the wrong direction. Tirana is not a city advisable to live in ', said Gjoka./abcnews.al
